Editorial Policy
Mission
BimaNiti provides independent, plain-language analysis of India's insurance sector. Our goal is to make regulatory developments, insurer performance data, and market trends accessible and useful for insurance professionals, practitioners, and informed policyholders.
Sourcing and Attribution
Every factual claim on BimaNiti is traced to its original source. We cite sources inline using numbered superscript references. Primary sources include:
- IRDAI circulars, exposure drafts, and annual reports
- Insurer annual reports and stock exchange filings (BSE, NSE)
- Government publications (budget documents, parliamentary committee reports)
- Industry body data (General Insurance Council, Life Insurance Council)
- News agency reports from reputable sources (Reuters, PTI, etc.)
Where we cite a secondary source, the original source is identified to the extent possible. Sources for the Guide are maintained in a structured source map within the site's data layer.
Independence
BimaNiti operates independently. We are not affiliated with any insurer, insurance broker, reinsurer, or the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI). We do not accept sponsored content, paid placements, or compensation from any entity for coverage or analysis. No external party has editorial control over content.
The site may participate in analytics programmes (Umami Analytics, self-hosted) for aggregate traffic measurement. This has no influence on editorial content.
